VOLUNTEER FOR NOTOCON XV

The success of an event of this size depends on the service of volunteers. You will be able to contribute to an overall positive event experience. It's also a chance to serve with initiates from all over the country. If you are interested in volunteering, please read the opportunities below. Vendor Concierge 

These volunteers will provide an official presence in the vending room and be available to answer questions and serve as a point of contact for vendors. We prefer someone who both pays attention to details and can anticipate the needs of vendors. 

Shifts of variable length are available on Saturday and Sunday. 

There will be online meetings prior to the event and on-site orientation and training. 

Audio-Visual Team

The A/V Team is responsible for setting up, testing, and managing A/V equipment and connections at NOTOCON presentations, meetings, receptions, and banquets. Requires knowledge of A/V equipment, the ability to troubleshoot connecting projectors with PC and Mac laptops, and the use of cables and adapters. 

Shifts of varying lengths available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

There will be online planning before the event as well as on-site instruction.

Runners

This team will assist in errands as needed and conduct all tasks and assignments efficiently, safely, and in a timely manner. Assignments will fall into two categories: on-site and off-site. Volunteers with cars will be asked to transport conference attendees to and from the airport. Runners must possess the ability to stay focused and flexible as tasks can change. Requires discretion and professionalism. 

Volunteers will work on-call shifts. 

There will be online meetings prior to the event and an orientation meeting on-site.

Safety Team

The Safety and Security Team is responsible for maintaining a safe and positive environment at NOTOCON. This team maintains a sharp eye, uses tact when managing difficult situations, and has a helpful disposition towards our siblings. Must possess an ability to remain calm under pressure and understand our harassment policies. Required: cell phone. Preferred: CPR and Basic First Aid. 

Shifts of varying lengths available on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

There will be online meetings before the event as well as on-site instruction.

Registration 

The Registration Team will assist guests and VIPs with conference check-in, hand out badges, and distribute any merchandise purchased prior to the event. Must be able to organize all registration materials, calmly manage long lines, and make sure that registered attendees receive merchandise based on what was selected during registration. 

Shifts include Thursday morning, Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning. 

Training includes an online meeting and an on-site orientation.

Accessibility Concierge 

This team is responsible for assisting conference attendees with accessibility needs including securing an accessible hotel room, large print and braille Liber XV missals, and reserved seating for presentations. 

Variable shifts are available for this team on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 

Information sessions will be done virtually through an online meeting and onsite orientation. 

Black gift bags

VIP Gifts

These volunteers are needed to compile and assemble VIP gift bags. They will work with the registration team to ensure delivery of the VIP bags, which will need to be assembled before the first day of registration. 

VIP GIFT bag items: A call for items to be featured in our bags will be made by this team. Donated items from member makers or local bodies are welcome!

Information sessions will be done virtually through an online meeting or via email before the event. 

An in-person work party will be held before registration opens. 

Lamen of the EGC

Mass Equipment Stewards

Stewards are responsible for setting up and tearing down the Mass equipment as well as helping move it between the hotel and storage. Stewards should be able to lift 50 lbs and be familiar with the setup of a Liber XV temple. 

This team needs 4-5 volunteers on Sunday morning and evening. Help may also be needed on Friday or Saturday based on volunteer availability. 

There will be a meeting on-site prior to Sunday’s Mass.

Celebration Concierge

Team A:

This team will help stage Friday evening’s Solar Return party and breakdown left over items to designated storage.

Team B:

This team will help stage Sunday afternoon’s Lon-ch 50th Anniversary including setup, breakdown, cleaning up any left over items, and moving them to designated storage.

Training includes an online meeting and an on-site orientation.
